Three warships that are part of Camp Pendleton's 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit are headed out today on a mission that includes combating piracy, according to the North County Times. That mission is especially poignant and timely, considering the murder of four Americans today by Somali pirates, as Home Post reported this morning. In related news, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports that those Somali pirates fired a rocket-propelled grenade at another San Diego-based ship, the destroyer U.S.S. Sterett, after killing the American hostages.
