United States Military Deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan – The Latest Numbers

The Associated Press today announced how many servicemen and women have died in the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, based on the news service’s own count. According to the AP, 4441 American troops were killed while serving in Iraq.

At least 3,502 military personnel died as a result of hostile action, according to the military’s numbers. Since the start of U.S. military operations in Iraq, 32,044 U.S. service members have been wounded in hostile action, according to the Defense Department’s weekly tally. (Read more)
