The non-profit group Pets for Patriots is holding its first-ever "Be a Pet's Hero" celebration tonight in Washington D.C. It's the first fundraising event for Pets for Patriots - and all sorts of lawmakers, staffers, and military supporters will be there. Founder Beth Zimmerman explains:
I've been following the efforts of this group since I started blogging for Home Post, and I'm really impressed with what they do: improve the quality of life for wounded warriors, active military, and veterans by helping them find the perfect canine or feline companion. Both the Rancho Coastal Humane Society and the San Diego County Department of Animal Services are local shelter partners with Pets for Patriots.
