With the intoxicating mixture of royalty and celebrity that surrounds him, it's easy to forget that Prince William is actually a member of the military. So it shouldn't be too much of a shock that the prince and his new bride Catherine plan to visit with military families during their visit to California next month, according to the nonprofit group Blue Star Families.
The Blue Star Families website reports the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (as they are formally known) will to stop by Sony Pictures Studios on July 10 to help out with 'Hiring our Heroes Los Angeles,' a job fair for servicemembers, their spouses, and veterans. The royal newlyweds will also help create care packages for the children of American troops.
Blue Star Families Executive Director Mark Smith says of the royal visit:
The event promises to be a humorous one (or humourous, if you're from England), as Prince William has become a bit freer with his witty personality in public since his recent marriage.
