The USS Carl Vinson is nothing if not versatile. The Associated Press is reporting the Vinson is "all but certain" to host a Veterans Day basketball game between Michigan State and the University of North Carolina:
Home Post reported back in April that there was a chance either the USS Carl Vinson or the USS Ronald Reagan would host the game. This was, of course, before Navy SEAL Team 6 killed Osama bin Laden, and the USS Carl Vinson took responsibility for burying bin Laden at sea. The Vinson returned to its home port of San Diego on Wednesday.
ESPN reported earlier NBA basketball greats Michael Jordan (former Tar Heel), and Magic Johnson (Michigan State alum) will be honorary team captains at the game.
Tickets to the game are not available to the public, but organizers will give 4,000 tickets to members of the military.
