A lone gunman used an AK-47 to kill two National Guard soldiers at a Carson City, Nevada IHOP this morning, according to the Associated Press. In total, five of the nine people shot by the gunman were in the Nevada National Guard. Nevada National Guard Sgt. Mike Getten told the AP there was a breakfast meeting of Guard members at the IHOP.
Carson City Sheriff Kenny Furlong has identified the shooter as 32-year-old Eduardo Sencion of Carson City. According to the AP:
Sencion worked at a family business in South Lake Tahoe, was not in the military, and had no known affiliations with anyone inside the restaurant.
The Los Angeles Times is reporting that four people died in the shooting, including Sencion, who shot himself in the head.
