The crew of the USS Carl Vinson left San Francisco today after taking part in the city's fleet week. Part of that participation included helping clean up the City by the Bay - and its zoo.

The Vinson's public affairs office reports that 48 Sailors from crew hit the San Francisco Zoo as part of the aircraft carrier's "Green Machine" initiative:

Members of the Vinson crew also helped raise $2,000 for San Francisco's homeless population by collecting recyclable cans.
