The USS Makin Island, and the entire Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group, is scheduled to return to homeport San Diego on Friday. The Makin Island ARG consists of the USS Makin Island, the USS New Orleans, the USS Pearl Harbor.
The USS Makin Island has been on its maiden deployment for seven months.
