3 US Soldiers Killed By Suicide Bomber On Donkey ID'ed

The three U.S. soldiers killed Tuesday in Afghanistan by a suicide bomber riding a donkey have been identified by the Department of Defense as:

-1st Lt. Jonam Russell, 25, of Cornville, Arizona

-Sgt. Stefan M. Smith, 24 of Glennville, Georgia, and

-Spc. Rob L. Nichols, 24, of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

All three soldiers were assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 15th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia.

As Home Post reported earlier this week, Russell, Smith, and Nichols were accompanying Afghan soldiers on foot patrol when a man riding a donkey approached them and detonated his explosives. An Afghan translator was also killed in the attack.
