Blue Angels at 2014 NAF El Centro Air Show
The Navy's Blue Angels kicked off the first show of their 2014 season on Saturday to an enthusiastic crowd of thousands at the NAF El Centro Air Show.
Air show attendee Natalie Mora told Imperial Valley Press it was her first time coming out to see the Blue Angels in action:
“We’ve been to other air shows, but because of the cutbacks that happened last year, we weren’t able to see (the Blue Angels)."
As Home Post previously reported, almost all of the flying squad's 2013 season was cancelled due to sequestration budget cuts.
An estimated 35,000 fans attended the Blue Angels first performance this year, according to the Pensacola News Journal.
