The man who says he was with JonBenet Ramsey when she died in 1996 will not be charged in the case. The Boulder County District Attorney says no charges will be filed againtst John Mark Karr in the death of the six-year old Colorado girl. Karr's attorney, Seth Temin, made the announcement this afternoon in Boulder, Colo.
Karr was extradited from Thailand to Colorado under the suspicion that he was involved in Ramsey's death. But Temin says District Attorney Mary Lacy did not have the physical evidence needed to charge his client with the murder of the 6-year-old girl 10 years ago.
Prosecutors in Sonoma County, Calif., are seeking to extradite Karr to face child pornography charges originally filed in 2001. A former school teacher, Karr remains in jail in Colorado.
