Rep. Gabrielle Giffords misses home.
She misses blue skies.
She misses Arizona's heat.
A day after ABC News aired an interview with her, Congresswoman Giffords (D-Tucson) released another spoken message – this time through Facebook.
"This is Gabby Giffords," she said. "I'm getting stronger. I'm getting better. It's been a hard year for all of us. Thinking about that day makes me sad."
Giffords is recovering in Houston from an assassination attempt that nearly killed her Jan. 8 in Tucson. All told, six people were slain - including federal Judge John Roll - and another 14 were shot.
"Six people died. Six innocent people. So many people hurt," she said. "There is a lot to say. I will speak better. I want to get back to work."
The Facebook message was about a minute long. It marked the second time in two days Gifford’s voice has been heard publically.
In Monday's appearance with ABC, Giffords spoke in clipped sentences at the side of her husband, Mark Kelly.
The man charged with the shooting rampage, Jared Lee Loughner, is receiving medication in prison as the judicial system determines whether he is fit to stand trial on murder and numerous other charges.
Loughner has a history of mental illness.
