The Democratic presidential campaigns will be back in San Diego County on Saturday.
President Bill Clinton will be representing his wife, Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton, at a rally in the morning, a campaign spokeswoman said. The place and time are still to be determined, she said.
Clinton will then appear at a 1:30 p.m. fundraiser on behalf of his wife at the Rancho Santa Fe Inn, the spokeswoman said.
Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, who hopes to win the June 7 primary in California and force a contested convention in July, will speak at a 7:30 p.m. rally at Kimball Park in National City. The event is free and open to the public.
The park is at 12th Street and D Avenue, and the Sanders campaign said in a news release that parking at the site is limited.
“For security reasons, please do not bring bags and limit what you bring to small, personal items like keys and cell phones. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs, and signs or banners on sticks will not be allowed through security,” the news release said.
President Clinton and Sanders have both made appearances in San Diego in recent weeks. Clinton spoke at the Balboa Park Club on May 4, where he was greeted by some Sanders supporters.
Sanders spoke at a large public rally on March 22 at the San Diego Convention Center. The crowd size was estimated at 8,800.
