It's been two years since the 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastated the small country of Haiti killing hundreds of thousands of citizens and costing around $14 billion in damages.
In San Diego and in cities across the nation, American Red Cross chapters are still collecting donations to help Haitians rebuild their homes and improve health care in their communities.
Joe Craver, CEO of the San Diego and Imperial Counties Red Cross said donations from the region have been significant. San Diegans raised more than $273,000.
Craver said most donations to Haiti recovery efforts have stopped, or are sparse, as more recent disasters like the Japan earthquake and tsunami have taken precedence.
