Big Rig Crash Closes I-5 South Offramp To SR-76

A big rig filled with UPS packages flipped onto its side in the North County early Thursday, tying up the southbound Interstate 5 offramp to state Route 76 for hours, authorities said.

The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The offramp is expected to be reopened around 8 a.m.

As of 5 a.m., a SigAlert remained in effect.

There were no immediate reports of injury.
