A badly decomposed body was found on a rocky stretch of coastline at Black's Beach Friday.

The discovery north of La Jolla Shores was reported about 4:15 p.m., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Police officers investigated, then called in the county Medical Examiner's Office to pick up the unidentified body, Fire-Rescue Department spokesman Lee Swanson said.
