Small Earthquake Shakes San Marcos Area

A 2.6-magnitude earthquake rattled part of the North County today, but no injuries or damage were reported.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake struck at 12:19 p.m., four miles south-southeast of San Marcos.

The Sheriff's Department and fire dispatchers said no emergency calls related to the earthquake were received.
