  • Laissez les bons temps rouler! Gator By The Bay returns to the San Diego Bay for four days of “Mardi Gras in May,” bringing the music, flavors and joyful spirit of Louisiana to the West Coast. The good times start early with a free Thursday kickoff party at 5 p.m., featuring an acoustic music jam, dancing, food trucks, beverages and a special meet-and-greet with GRAMMY-winning musician Wilson Savoy. Enjoy 100+ live performances across seven stages, dance to Zydeco, Cajun and blues bands, and dig into authentic Creole favorites—including 10,000 pounds of crawfish trucked in straight from Louisiana. Take a spin on the dance floor with free lessons at the Bon Temps Social Club Dance Pavilion, watch chefs cook up Southern classics at the Taste of Louisiana Cooking Pavilion, and browse the colorful Mardi Gras Market for art, music and festive finds. Held over Mother’s Day weekend, the festival is a favorite for families, with kids 17 and under admitted free with a paid adult. Please only bring clothes in good condition, that someone could appreciate wearing. Avoid bringing torn/ distressed/ stained clothes for swapping. Materials provided vs. what to bring: Provided: Sewing machines, some clothes + fabrics to sew or paint on , charm and doll making supplies. Bring: Clothes to trade, a t-shirt or two (sewing and/or printing). If you want you can bring your own project too.

With a 14-piece Mariachi accompanied by a 10-piece Symphony Orchestra, the show promises to be an emotional celebration of Mexico's musical heritage. Mariachi Champaña Nevin, who has been performing together internationally for the past five years, will bring the sounds of Mexico to life in a unique and breathtaking way. This will be the group’s first performance in San Diego this year.
