Visionary Dance Theatre presents "Tjello" at the Visionary Performance Space (8674 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942) on April 7 and 8, 2023 @ 7:30p.m. Join Visionary's professional dancers for an evening of reflection, contemplation, and inspiration. This poignant show offers the visions of three choreographers and embraces performance through the emotional and thoughtful means of dance. James LaRose brings back a work which highlights the functions and mechanics of the human body and how they compare to the operation of everyday machines. Khamla Somphanh piece, Radiation, explores weaknesses, strengths, choices made to take on challenges, and the search for guidance to persevere. Cello brings together the full company in a series of dance vignettes and reconstructs the way music and dance can be shared. Taking the rich and vibrant timbre of the cello and rhythms of Africa, Spencer John Powell, weaves classical and tribal dance forms together as a part of our modern world.

This original exhibition of digital photography with historical context, explores Bonita and Sweetwater Valley landscape, landmarks and architecture. For the exhibition Mark has been hiking the Sweetwater Valley area in South Bay San Diego documenting the area utilizing aerial drone photography creating 360 degree panoramic views. He has been working with the collection of the Bonita Historical Society to include information about local historic homes, including the 1908 Irving J. Gill and Frank Mead "Allen House," the “Otay Limited” National City & Otay railway, as well as early pioneer maps and historical objects inviting the public to discover the evolution of the local landscape of natural geography juxtaposed with architectural and commercial development.

Finding Peace During Life's Waves with Laurie Hallihan Saturday, April 8, 9:30-11 a.m. This mindfulness workshop is a great starting point for beginning a regular mindfulness practice or to inspire your current practice. Laurie will provide an experiential, safe environment to practice these powerful tools that can help with reducing stress, depression, anxiety and many other chronic conditions. San Diego-based cannabis dispensary, March and Ash, is partnering with local pet rescue organizations to help furry friends in need, by hosting a summer pet food and supplies drive. Customers are invited to bring in much-needed dog and cat food, along with new pet supplies and new toys, beginning Thursday, June 15th through Friday, June 30th. At the end of the month, all food and supplies will be donated to The Animal Pad and San Diego Humane Society. Those who donate new, unopened, and non-expired items can enjoy 15% off at March and Ash, available for in-store purchases only; not delivery. Donation bins will be located inside the lobby in March and Ash’s Mission Valley, Vista, Imperial Valley and Imperial Beach locations. About The Animal Pad The Animal Pad is a non-profit, all-breed dog rescue that focuses on saving dogs from high-kill shelters and the streets of Mexico.
