Hurling has been played for more than 3,000 years, and is considered the fastest game on grass using a wooden stick called a hurley and a small leather ball called a sliotar. Gaelic Football has been played since the middle ages, and is a very fast form of soccer where players advance the football, a spherical leather ball, up the field with a combination of carrying, bouncing, kicking, hand-passing, and soloing (dropping the ball and then toe-kicking the ball upward into the hands). Scoring in Hurling, Camogie, and Gaelic Football is by hitting or kicking the ball over the crossbar for one point, or under the crossbar and into the net for three points.
