  • The International WeLoveU Foundation will be holding an environmental cleanup event in Santee on Sunday, June 26, 2022. Members of the community are encouraged to come volunteer their time picking up trash from the riverbed of the Forester Creek. This event is part of the organization’s "Clean WORLD Movement" to restore ecosystems that have been neglected by picking up waste accumulated during the pandemic. Since the onset of COVID-19, there has been an increase in single-use materials, recycling centers were closed or accepted fewer materials, and cleanups were canceled or postponed because of social distancing restrictions. As a result, now our ecosystems are riddled with waste and pollution. For a happier and healthier society, the International WeLoveU Foundation promotes unity and friendship among all people of the global village – beyond nationality, race, religion and socioeconomic status – through impactful environmental and social welfare initiatives carried out with the heart of a mother. For tending to the needs of the global village, WeLoveU has received more than 100 honorary and presidential awards from various countries. Some of these include the U.S. President’s Call to Service Award for volunteerism and the Green Apple Award for best environmental practice. By coming together, we can achieve a brighter and cleaner world! Follow them on Social Media! Facebook + Instagram

  • Feeling lonely this November? Have a party of one! Go to dinner by yourself, check out a movie, play a video game, but wrap it up and be ready to hang out with friends and share those stories of isolation at Long Story Short! Maybe you have some funny yarns of your solo adventures, cringey tales about attempted me-time, or whatever stories you want to share that the theme inspires in you! At Long Story Short, tell your story without notes in five minutes or less, in a fun environment with no pressure. Anyone can throw their name into our hat and be called upon randomly to share their story. Or you can just watch! Long Story Short follows the idea of a campfire, where we tell tales, bond and make friends, and pass the talking stick (ok, you come up to the microphone). Take Your Turn!
