From international to local, thirty-one (31) participating purveyors of delicious tastes, including long established and very new arrivals in Mission Hills, and even a recipient of the prestigious 2021 Michelin Plate award, will be featured at the 10th Annual Taste of Mission Hills happening on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00p.m. And, included in the price of each TASTE ticket is trolley transportation to within steps of each participating venue. The more than 5 mile taste route includes West Lewis Street, Ft. Stockton Drive, Goldfinch Street, West Washington Street, Reynard Way and India Street, and promises the 10th Annual Taste of Mission Hills will be the best ever! Taste of Mission Hills is hosted by the Mission Hills Business Improvement District and it is the annual fundraiser for this non-profit organization. This year’s Title Sponsor is US Bank, Mission Hills branch whose generous donation supports the growth of the event and helps keep ticket prices low. Old Town Trolley service is being offered freely to TASTE ticket holders again this year due to generous TASTE Trolley sponsorships from John Ealy owner of Harley Gray Kitchen & Bar, and Hailey and Merritte Powell owners of La Puerta Mission Hills. The nine (9) trolley stops are listed on the back of each ticket. Every fifteen minutes a trolley will pick up and drop off at each designated TASTE trolley stop. On event night, please look for the TASTE trolley stop signs.   • The popular ArtWalk Little Italy Summer Series is back! Taking place at the Piazza della Famiglia and the adjacent block of W. Date Street, each one-day show of the ArtWalk Little Italy Summer Series will include thirty select artists exhibiting their stunning works of art. The event will run every other Sunday from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.: June 12, June 26, July 10 and July 24, giving locals and visitors incredible opportunities to purchase one-of-a-kind art from local, national, and international artists in a variety of mediums.   • The American Motorhead Motorcycle Art Show will be held Saturday, July 30 from 5 P.M. to 10 P.M. at Prohibition Brewing Co., located at 2004 East Vista Way in Vista, Calif., 92084. The show will be open to the public and proceeds will benefit equipment for Scripps Health’s perinatology program for women experiencing high-risk pregnancies. The family-friendly event will feature motorcycle-themed works of art for sale by painters, leather designers, illustrators and other artists. Local vendors will donate a variety of prizes for raffle drawings, and artists will donate their talents to produce custom skateboard decks for a silent auction. Admission to the art show is free, and raffle tickets, food and beverages and works of art will be available for purchase. Guests can enjoy live music by 8-Track Highway, as well as Prohibition Brewing Co.’s full dining menu and wide selection of craft beers. The show is presented by American Motorhead Design & Illustration and sponsored by Law Tigers Motorcycle Lawyers and Prohibition Brewing Co.   • City of Angels rapper Duckwrth is coming to San Diego for his brand new Chrome Bull Tour! Duckwrth, born Jared Lee, is a recording and visual artist from South Central, Los Angeles. He started developing a cult fan base by appearing on popular TeamBackPack Youtube videos and releasing local mixtapes like "Ducktape" and "Taxfree V1". His first major label release, an XTRA UUGLY Mixtape, vowed to take that vision a step further by blending genres from rock to hip hop to funk and soul and incorporating live elements from guitars to violins. A strong body of work that caught the attention of taste makers around the world with tracks that found its way into syncs for Apple, Amazon, Insecure, Empire and more.
