  • This holiday season, Shelter to Soldier and L’Auberge Del Mar are teaming up for a festive, pet-friendly Ugly Sweater “Yappy Hour” to raise vital funds that support bringing trained rescue dogs together with wounded veterans, providing healing, purpose, and a path forward. On Tuesday, December 16 from 4-8 p.m., L’Auberge Del Mar will welcome guests and their pups to their Living Room Bar (1540 Camino Del Mar, Del Mar, CA 92014) for an evening of holiday cheer in support of this meaningful mission. The event will feature a lineup of festive specialty cocktails, crafted exclusively for the evening. For every specialty cocktail sold, L’Auberge Del Mar will generously donate $5 directly to Shelter to Soldier, helping the organization continue its mission of “Saving Lives, Two at a Time” through adopting dogs from local shelters and training them to become service dogs for post-9/11 veterans. There will even be a special “cocktail” on the menu created just for the dogs. Guests will enjoy live music, an ugly sweater contest, special moments with Shelter to Soldier’s Canine Ambassadors, and an opportunity drawing featuring unique items from local businesses. About Shelter to Soldier: Shelter to Soldier is a nonprofit organization that adopts dogs from local shelters and trains them to become service dogs for post 9/11 veterans suffering from PTSD, TBI, Military Sexual Trauma, and or other injuries associated with traumatic service experiences. The program also places emotional support animals (ESAs) with active-duty military and veterans, as well as deploys the Shelter to Soldier Canine Ambassadors, a team of therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers, to provide visits of love and comfort to local military, veterans, and their families.
