Chaired by the Fleet Science Center, the San Ysidro STEM Committee is proud to mark the 5th anniversary of this free, equity-centered, family fair. In April 1926, Hugo Gernsback published Amazing Stories magazine for the first time, and while the name of the genre took a few more years to become a household term, many credit this moment with the birth of Science fiction fandom as we know it today! Join us for a two-panels featuring a discussion on the impact of Amazing Stories and Science Fiction as a genre! Featuring published authors, scholars, and podcasters with deep knowledge of the history and great works of the last 100 years. The water-based media exhibition runs Apr 26 – May 30, 2026, at our Gallery in The Arts District Liberty Station.
