  • Mr. Jahja Ling is universally praised for his work as music director of the San Diego Symphony Orchestra, transforming if from post-bankruptcy into one of the top-tier orchestras during his 13-year tenure from 2004 to 2017. Mr. Ling was born to a Chinese family in Jakarta and is now a U.S. citizen. He is the first and only conductor of Chinese descent who has held a music director position with a major orchestra in the United States. This exhibition, which includes photographs, videos, a story-board, and physical objects owned by Mr. Ling, was premiered at the Bonita Museum and Cultural Center in 2018.   • Join the San Diego Chorus for an evening of award-winning, 4-part a cappella harmony! On Wednesday, December 14, the curtain goes UP on the San Diego Chorus annual holiday show, RING IN THE HOLIDAYS. Having recently celebrated 70 years of making music together, Ring In The Holidays is a joyful celebration of holiday favorites, both old and new. Our chorus and quartets will perform a blend of classic barbershop music and fun, contemporary songs that you’re sure to recognize – all performed in 4-part a cappella harmony. Ring In The Holidays will feature exciting performances by from the San Diego Chorus as well as multiple quartets, including Region 21 4th Place Award-Winners, Solo Voce. Come early to shop the silent auction. We will also have our annual collection for the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the show.
