Alexander, and Jen Winslow as they make their "Trans Diaries" debut!

Join us for Day Camp at ArtReach! Lean into the season of fall with an engaging art workshop that encourage students to practice and experience gratitude, coziness, and community with their peers during a season of friendship and reflection. Students will be inspired by artists such as Fruit Face, Boba Jelly, David Hockney, and Yayoi Kusama. This session is for elementary age students in grades K through 5th. What to expect at ArtReach HQ: What to bring: Please pack a water bottle, lunch, and snacks for your child. A water refill station is available onsite. When: Art camp will be Monday, November 11 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Select the Day Camp and Extended Care options for pickup at 5 p.m. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before class. Where: We are located at 1065 University Ave. San Diego, CA 92103 (on the corner of University and Vermont). Parking: We have limited space in our parking lot for drop off and pick up. Seats are limited! If you would like to add on a ticket for a friend, reach out and we will try to accommodate your needs. Running late? The Roy L. Brooks Distinguished Lecture Series was established in response to the social unrest of 2020 and demonstrated by calls from students, alumni, staff and faculty to actively take a stand against anti-Black sentiment. Specifically, the 2020 Black Faculty letter, asked for the establishment of an annual lecture series that would bring an African American scholar to campus. While the establishment of this lecture series is in direct response to that request, it also signals the University's commitment to listen to and improve the experiences of Black Faculty on campus. The award is named after Professor Roy L. Brooks who has been a long standing member of our community, an award-winning and engaging teacher, broadly recognized legal scholar, prolific author of legal books and articles, and a respected and distinguished member of the legal profession and community. This year's Roy L. Brooks Distinguished Lecture Series will feature Dr. Renetta Garrison Tull, the University of California Davis' inaugural Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). Join us for Dr. Tull's talk titled, "Getting What You Came For: How to Position Yourself as a Changemaker Through Mentoring, Perseverance and Agility" where she will share her journey to where she is today. This will be followed by an interview with Dr. Regina Dixon-Reeves on 4 key themes: (1) Mentoring (2) Being the only one or one of few (3) Persevering in the face of inevitable disappointments (4) Being strategic while remaining nimble and taking advantage of opportunities as they arise. Dr. Tull will also weave in stories of how she became interested in her career, steps she took, experiences she had, and what she might have done differently, if she had known differently.

Escondido Choral Arts presents The Center Chorale, combined with full symphony orchestra, guests Pacific Coast Chorale, and soloists, will perform Ode to Joy, from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in celebration of the Two Hundredth Anniversary of this great work. "This kiss is for the whole world" translated from the Ninth, moves us today as we listen to the interplay between the instruments and the chorus. Also programmed will be works by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, and Faure, some of your Great Composers throughout history. Conductor John Nettles, Guest Conductor Diego Guerra, and soloists Caroline Nelms, Maria Caughey, and DeAndre Simmons will be performing in the beautiful California Center for the Arts, Escondido's Center Theater.

Annual Art Glass Association of Southern California Member’s Glass Show Come see stunning glass art from the members of the Art Glass Association of Southern California. This is the 43rd annual member glass art show. There are many forms of glass art including blown glass, kiln formed glass, lamp worked glass and mixed media.
