This Thanksgiving holiday, Pendry San Diego is showing gratitude and giving thanks with its annual Chefsgiving event on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. at Provisional Kitchen. Featuring a lineup of San Diego’s most notable chefs including Provisional’s very own Executive Chef Brandon Sloan, each chef will cook up their favorite Thanksgiving dish served family-style with wine pairings. Escondido Choral Arts presents The Center Chorale, combined with full symphony orchestra, guests Pacific Coast Chorale, and soloists, will perform Ode to Joy, from Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony in celebration of the Two Hundredth Anniversary of this great work. "This kiss is for the whole world" translated from the Ninth, moves us today as we listen to the interplay between the instruments and the chorus. Also programmed will be works by Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, and Faure, some of your Great Composers throughout history. Conductor John Nettles, Guest Conductor Diego Guerra, and soloists Caroline Nelms, Maria Caughey, and DeAndre Simmons will be performing in the beautiful California Center for the Arts, Escondido's Center Theater.

Annual Art Glass Association of Southern California Member’s Glass Show Come see stunning glass art from the members of the Art Glass Association of Southern California. This is the 43rd annual member glass art show. There are many forms of glass art including blown glass, kiln formed glass, lamp worked glass and mixed media. “Smoke Signals” Film Screening and Dinner Nov. 20 | 5-7 p.m. | Intertribal Resource Center Join us for a special screening of the heartwarming coming-of-age film “Smoke Signals” (1998). A cult-classic in the Native American community, this film explores themes of identity, family and healing through the humorous and heartfelt journey of best friends Victor and Thomas. Dinner and beverages will be provided by the ITRC. The Intertribal Resource Center is located on the 1st floor of the Student Services Center in SSC Room #187. We are located at the corner of Rupertus Way and Myers Drive, south of Price Center East. Beyond Land Acknowledgments Workshop Tuesday, Nov. 19 | 1-3 p.m. | Intertribal Resource Center (SSC 187) Beyond Land Acknowledgements, led by ITRC Coordinator Michaela Allen Sanchez (Lipan Apache and Mexican-American), is an engaging and introspective workshop aimed at moving beyond traditional land acknowledgments towards fostering genuine support and allyship for Native students and communities at UC San Diego and beyond. In this session, participants will delve into critical discussions about their positionalities and explore departmental protocols to identify opportunities for growth and advocacy. Through interactive activities and guided reflections, participants will develop a deeper understanding of creating tangible forms of support. By the end of the workshop, attendees will walk away equipped with actionable items to enact positive change for the betterment of Native communities within their spheres of influence.
