  • This month, we’re celebrating one year of "Water And Kindness!" In honor of this milestone, we’re inviting all of YOU to our anniversary event! Please join us at Pop-Up Winona (4951 El Cajon Blvd) from 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28th! Our anniversary event is on the same day/time as our usual monthly FREE Clothing Swap/Community Fair, so we’ll be providing our usual harm reduction resources, water, and hosting our clothing swap. To add to the celebration, we’ll also have free community activities, such as button-making, zines, a book swap, and more! We’re hosting some new organizations that are excited to engage with our community! Partnering with us will be: Chaos Craft Time for crafting buttons and beaded creations SheFest offering kids' clothing from baby to toddler sizes Direct Action Distro will be presenting their self-published zines SAY San Diego will also be present for education on drug prevention Hugs and Bags is offering free Bombas socks City Heights Self Defense committee will also be showcasing classes for self-defense Mutual Aid for Moms supports local mothers in the neighborhood with free resources And More! Everyone is welcome at this event, even if you’ve never engaged with "Water And Kindness" before! Stop by to give what you can, take what you need, or just meet some new neighbors and be in your community.   • The City of Carlsbad is bringing back the past at the Hot Rods & Cool Treats carnival and classic car show. Grab the family and come on out for some good old-fashioned fun. It’s an old-fashioned carnival at Pine Avenue Park with activities for the young and young at heart. Test your game skills in Can-Knock-Down, Ring Toss, Frog Hopper, and more. Enjoy crafts, face painting, and a Fun Zone. Build your own sundae at the ice cream bar and vote on your favorite car in the classic car show. Enjoy live music covering decades of sounds. Carnival tickets, food, and drinks are available for purchase at the event. How to enter your car Cars are eligible to win in only one category. Entries will be limited to automobiles 25 years old or older, no buses or semi-trailer rigs. All participants will receive an event collectors dash plate. Awards will be given out in 11 categories: - Best of show - Best interior - Best paint - Best wooden car/wagon - Most original car - Kids’ choice - Spectator’s choice - Oldest car - Best custom graphics - Best muscle car - Best convertible There is a maximum of 30 cars for this event.
