  • The Woman’s Club of Vista (WCV) is hosting the Second Annual Vista Fun Walk for Autism Awareness and Acceptance on April 6, 2025. All proceeds of this fundraiser go to Vista nonprofits and nonprofit organizations that support autism research, awareness, and acceptance. The event is sensory-friendly, and there is a 1K walk and a 2K walk. There will also be exhibitors and educational opportunities to learn about autism resources. The Woman’s Club of Vista was founded in 1916. Its mission is to enrich lives through philanthropy and volunteer service in Vista, CA and North San Diego County.   • Have you always wanted to tap dance? In our Tap Workshop, taught by Lindy Lyon, we will work on the fundamentals of tap dance in the feet and in the body. Each week, students will build on the skills learned the previous week as we broaden our step vocabulary. Students will also learn about major figures and influences in tap dance history. Students will hone their tap skills with an emphasis on musicality, technique, and playfulness as they learn a dance. The purpose of this event is to raise funds for the children and pets impacted by domestic violence in our community. Our fundraising efforts from this event will ensure these under-served children receive the financial and emotional assistance they need. It will also help us support domestic violence victims with pets to leave their abusive situation.   • On Saturday, March 22, 2025, the Escondido Union School District and the California Center for the Arts, Escondido Foundation will present the 13th annual smART Festival from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido (340 N. Escondido Blvd). The event is free and open to the public. Each year, the Center dedicates its Museum and Center Theater to celebrating the creativity of local youth, showcasing the impact of its long-standing partnership with the Escondido Union School District in bringing arts education to schools. This vibrant community festival highlights student achievements in the visual and performing arts. Artwork from students across all 24 Escondido Union schools will be on display, with two-dimensional and three-dimensional pieces featured in the Museum. Meanwhile, the Center Theater will host youth dance and music performances throughout the day.
