In honor of the holiday, Temaki’s lineup of draft beers, including Harland Brewing Co.’s “Japanese Lager,” Sapporo, “Space Dust” IPA by Elysian Brewing and “Penitent Man” IPA by Viewpoint Brewing Co., will go green and be priced at $5 each. Shots of Jameson Irish Whiskey will also be available for $5. Through March, Temaki will serve a festive hand roll, the Clover, made with salmon, crunchy garlic, cucumber, gobo and kaiware, priced at $12.   • El Chingon, the “Bad Ass Mexican” hotspot at 560 Fifth Ave., will turn the Gaslamp Quarter green with two days of St. Patrick’s Day festivities, kicking off with a Shamrock and Mimosas brunch on Sunday, March 15 and continuing with spirited drinks on Tuesday, March 17. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with the Shamrock and Mimosas brunch. A live DJ will perform during brunch, and guests are encouraged to wear green. Standout offerings will include mimosas and festive cocktails alongside brunch dishes such as chilaquiles Chingones, house-made tortillas smothered in a choice of green or red salsa with two eggs, avocado, Chingón cheese blend, crema and refried beans, priced at $17; Chingón breakfast burrito, scrambled eggs, bacon, Chingón cheese blend, French fries, avocado and sour cream wrapped in a flour tortilla, priced at $12; huevos rancheros, two eggs, refried beans, ranchero sauce, sliced avocado and sour cream served on a tostada, priced at $19; and a choice of beef or ham with eggs, sour cream, refried beans and rice, served as a plate or in a burrito, priced at $19; among other brunch items.   • Mama’s Kitchen is hosting its 35th annual Mama’s Day fundraiser on Saturday, May 16, at 5:30 p.m. This beloved culinary event features restaurants, chefs, and culinary artists from across San Diego, coming together to raise funds for Mama’s Kitchen’s medically tailored home-delivered meal program. Attendees of the event get to soak in scenic bay views as they taste unlimited bites from the participating culinary partners, which include upscale restaurants, iconic cafes, artisan bakeries, beloved pizza joints, and many more. In addition to incredible food, guests can enjoy live music, pop-up booths, opportunity drawings, and a photo booth to capture all the fun. All proceeds from Mama’s Day are funneled directly to Mama’s Kitchen’s medically-tailored meal delivery services, allowing for more critically ill San Diegans to receive free, nutrition-rich meals.   • America’s Schooner Cup Supporting Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society It is so unusual to see these gorgeous wooden schooners. The boats will sail competitively on San Diego Bay. Donations from local businesses and supporters go to NMCRS. A fundraiser auction will be held at Silver Gate Yacht Club after the race. NMCRS provides financial assistance and education, as well as other programs and services, to members of the United States Navy and Marine Corps, their eligible family members, widows, and survivors. The Society receives and manages donated funds to administer these programs and services, and all funds raised remain in San Diego County to support local military families. For over a century, the Society has expanded its services and programs to support the changing needs of service members and their families.
