  • Singer Songwriter Jud Caswell - Three Appearances! Songwriting Workshop: 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2024 (free, all are welcome). Concert: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, January 27 (registration required). Jud Caswell is a member of the UU Congregation in Brunswick, Maine (our own Grace Lewis-McLaren is also a member), and he is a wonderful singer-songwriter. Jud will be leading a songwriting workshop on Saturday, January 27 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and will offer a concert that evening at 7:30. And on Sunday morning, January 28, Jud will join our music team to lead music for our worship service. Join us to hear some beautiful music from one of our own. We will explore various lettering types (including modern calligraphy style), how to design a layout, tips for keeping your lettering straight and aligned, and even how to add decorative elements to your design. Enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages Space is limited, so be sure to register early Instructor: Alex Hirsch of Signs of Our Lives Class Size: 8 students Who should attend? - This class is encouraged for students of all levels; including someone who has never taken a lettering or calligraphy class before, or someone who wants to level up their basic knowledge and skills. In this 2.5 hour session, we will cover: - The basics of hand lettering - How to design and letter on your own chalkboard Materials included: - 8”x10” chalkboard - Chalk lettering supplies Cancellation Policy: All workshops are non-refundable.
