  • The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities’ (HACU) 40th Annual Conference provides a unique forum for showcasing the best and most promising practices in higher education and at Hispanic-Serving Institutions. The three-day annual national event, under the theme “40 Years of Championing Higher Education Success: One Graduate at a Time,” features keynote speakers, discussion panels, an international plenary and a Town Hall. Pre-conference events focus on topics such as higher education leadership, PreK-12 collaborations, and special issues of interest for deans and senior administrators. In conjunction with the conference, HACU’s ¡Adelante! Leadership Institute offers a student track for undergraduates with workshops focused on career and leadership development. The conference draws attendees from across the United States, Puerto Rico, Latin America and Spain.   • Viva La Raza: Reflections on San Diego’s Chican@ Movement is a multigenerational exhibition presented by The Woo in collaboration with Subcultura Curation in Barrio Logan, one of San Diego’s recognized cultural districts. Opening Saturday, April 11, 2026, the exhibition is inspired by the resistance, cultural pride, and community movement surrounding Chicano Park Day (April 25) and will be on view throughout that weekend. Through visual art, archival materials, photography, and storytelling, "Viva La Raza" brings together multiple perspectives reflecting the history, culture, and creative spirit of San Diego’s Chican@ community. The exhibition features Aztlan Archives as a central historical anchor, a focus on the Queer Chicanx experience in collaboration with Lambda Archives of San Diego, a community-led photography exhibition by Manuel Ceniceros and "All For Logan," and a solo presentation of new works by BRISK ONE. Together, these elements highlight both the legacy and ongoing evolution of the movement in San Diego.
