  • The Makers Arcade Spring Fair makes its Balboa Park debut on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, 2026, bringing this beloved handmade festival to one of San Diego’s most iconic cultural destinations for the very first time. Join us for a vibrant, open-air celebration of the best handmade crafts and independent artists in Southern California. This thoughtfully curated festival features 120+ local makers, artists, and creative small businesses, offering high-quality, locally made goods including jewelry, ceramics, home décor, textiles, apparel, original artwork, and one-of-a-kind gifts. Every purchase directly supports our regional creative economy. Enjoy a lively weekend filled with food trucks, beer, cocktails, and mocktails, live music, interactive art installations, photo booths, and hands-on make-and-take craft stations for all ages—all set within the scenic grounds of Balboa Park. Kids 12 and under are free all weekend and will receive a filled Easter egg at entry. Shoppers will earn prize tickets with purchases, redeemable for giveaways, and select Makers Arcade tote bags will include hidden golden tickets for special prize packs. Admission is $5 for adults, with free entry for kids 12 and under.   • Celebrate with us! City Heights celebrates its' Multicultural Festival of Love, this year in the sixth iteration with vivid performances from Fern Street Circus to Hoover High Mariachi to Rick and Friends (evoking the spirit of Rick's brother, the late, great Chunky Sanchez.). The City Heights Music School will perform, and Chinelos from Morelos, masked dancers will delight. Join in a drum lesson with Drummers Without Borders, and parade around the park with drums, giant lanterns and banners. Thrill to the low riders exhibit, expect delicious food from vendors, with jumpies for kids. Kids from 3 to 103 will enjoy paper mask-making with San Diego Guild of Puppetry. Many community groups will be represented with a table exhibit and information on opportunities available.
