  • San Diego Card Show – August 28, 2026 at BNS Brewing Looking for a great San Diego Card Show? Join SD Card Club and Cards & Collectors on Friday, August 28, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The event takes place at BNS Brewing & Distilling Co. in Santee, California. This San Diego Card Show is free to attend and welcomes collectors of all ages. More than 40 vendors will be on site with thousands of trading cards, collectibles, and hobby items. Whether you collect Pokémon, sports cards, One Piece, Magic: The Gathering, or Disney Lorcana, you will find plenty to explore. Buy, Sell, and Trade Bring your trade binder and meet collectors from across San Diego County. You can buy, sell, or trade throughout the evening. In addition, many vendors will have sealed products, graded cards, singles, vintage collectibles, and hobby supplies. Whether you are a longtime collector or just getting started, this event is a great place to grow your collection. Many vendors are happy to answer questions and help new collectors.   • First U.S. Hands-On with Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, July 23-26: Starting 9:30 a.m. inside The Pointe in the Hilton San Diego Bayfront Hotel, guests can play Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, the next active game in the Nintendo Switch Sports series playable exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Full of intuitive motion control sports games the whole family can play together*, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort launches Oct. 22, and guests will be able to try out 4 of its 12 different sports. There will be a first come/first serve queue where visitors can wait for the opportunity to try out the game. Meanwhile, outside on The Promenade, visitors can watch live Nintendo Switch Sports Resort gameplay broadcasting locally on screens while participating in some fun, family-friendly sports activities hosted by event staff.
  • Ages 5-12. Students in this course will develop the skills and confidence to draw portraits from observation. Over the course of the class, young artists will learn how to draw accurate proportions of the face, understanding the relationships between features to capture a true likeness of their subjects. As they refine their technical abilities, students will also develop their own artistic eye and focus on bringing their subjects to life on the page.   • Ages 5-12. Students in this course will build essential sewing skills using both hand-sewing techniques and the sewing machine. Over six weeks, they’ll learn safety practices, stitching basics, machine navigation, and troubleshooting while growing confident in their technical abilities. As they explore idea development and practice foundational skills, students will create both functional and decorative pieces.   • Spend a summer evening at San Diego Botanic Garden during Summer Nights on Thursday, July 9, featuring a live performance by local favorite Miranda Ramos. Known for her powerhouse vocals, rock-infused country sound and crowd-favorite singalongs, Ramos delivers an energetic concert experience that keeps audiences dancing from start to finish. A two-time Best of San Diego winner and two-time San Diego Music Award nominee, she has built a reputation for turning every performance into a lively celebration. Admission begins at 4 p.m., with music going from 5:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. Guests can enjoy the concert while exploring the Garden's 37-acres of lush landscapes and ocean-view pathways during extended evening hours.
