  • Beginning spoon carving. In this introduction course of carving Woodworker Paul Maschka will be sharing the ancient style of green wood hand carving with simple but very precise hand tools–a small carving axe, straight blade carving knife and a curved hook knife. With proper techniques, green wood can be intricately sculpted into extremely beautiful, functional and unique pieces of art. Paul specializes in Viking-era cutlery. This Scandinavian style is still being crafted around the world. In this workshop, students will be creating a straight tea spoon or straight cooking spoon. This class is designed for the beginner as well as more experienced carvers. There is no prerequisite for this class. All of the necessary tools and materials will be available to students for this class. Tools and chopping blocks will be available for purchase after the class. No experience necessary.   • Join us in the woodshop for this 5-hour intarsia woodworking workshop! Intarsia is a woodworking technique that involves the use of varied shapes of wood to create an image or pattern. In this class, we will cover shop safety and how to use a scroll saw, as well as best practices for sanding and finishing. Students will choose from a template to transfer to their wood, creating a mosaic-like decorative wall piece. Template options will be provided, and may be altered and edited based on skill level. At the end of the workshop, each student will leave with their own intarsia project. Materials are provided. We recommend students bring their own eye protection, ear protection & apron, but we have some for borrow if needed. Aprons for sale here. No experience necessary. Ages 18+ welcome.   • Our monthly Nat at Night is back for 2026. During Nat at Night, we're open until 10 p.m. so you can explore the Museum after hours. Enjoy access to all open exhibitions* and our rooftop deck for good views and great vibes. The rooftop is open to all visitors and serves beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks and food from Wolf in the Woods—you can get a look at the menu below. With bars on several floors, sip a signature cocktail as you leisurely explore the Museum. Or grab some artisan tacos, conchas or paletas, and amazing coffee drinks from The Craft Taco in our Atrium. On select dates, enjoy getting crafty with our friends from Sketchparty (usually the third Friday of the month).
