  • Dr. Lisa Stowers of Scripps Research Institute will discuss how her laboratory focuses on basic neuroscience in determining how the brain creates and responds to emotion. Using male mice in a amimal model, responses to another animal entering the cage begin with the sensory system. Pheromones released are an indication of how social interactions will proceed. The lab has made several discoveries about specific pheromones that connect with emotional responses in mice.   • We’re currently hosting a Military Push-Up Challenge for active-duty service members and veterans, where the participant with the most push-ups will win a free 2 carat diamond engagement ring.
