At the heart of this 2025 documentary lies a battle for identity and justice, where militias storm casinos, graves are pillaged for DNA evidence and even proven lineage cannot save individuals from disenrollment. More than 10,000 people have been disenrolled from their tribes in recent years, eviscerated from their communities and families. Research confirms disenrollment’s relationship to tribal gaming and even the corruption of tribal politicians. Not only does it result in financial ruin for the disenrolled, but immeasurable psychological harm when they are now told “you’re no Indian.” This film exposes the dark intersection of power, greed and cultural erasure. It’s a powerful stand for those whose voices have been silenced, urging viewers to join a growing movement for truth and accountability. Join us for the 2026 Tolley Dances™ on the MTS Blue Line Trolley! This iconic event has been bringing San Diego together for 28 years through site-specific dance that highlights our city's diversity, culture, and community. Choreographers include Erica Buechner, Jessica Rabanzo-Flores, Spencer John Powell, SDDT's Artistic Director Terry Wilson and the Founder of Trolley Dances™ Jean Isaacs. Parking: Parking available at UTC Mall in the designated Transit Center parking structure. Ticketing: Ticketing table can be located at the top of the UTC Mall parking Structure next to the Trolley. *Kids age 8 and under may ride and join the tour for free with a paying adult. The annual holiday of Juneteenth marks the historic date of June 19, 1865, when the last of the enslaved Black people in the United States finally learned of their freedom—a full two and a half years after the official signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. The activities planned for the Del Mar Fair serve a dual purpose. They honor this significant anniversary, marking the true abolition of slavery, and celebrate the achievements and contributions of Black Americans since emancipation. Festivities include performances by Blues man Lenny Fuzzy Rankin and solo jazz guitarist and singer Elliot Lawrence. Guests can enjoy line dancing with San Diego’s own ERRRVERYBODi Line Dancers, as well as drumming and dancing by the Worldbeat Center African Drummers & Dancers. There will also be music from DJ Kool T and spoken word performances by host Kendrick Dial. Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) and San Diego History Center are thrilled to present "Changing Terrain: Regional Artists Interpret Our Landscape," bringing together contemporary artists from Southern California and Baja to explore a region in constant transformation. Inspired by the exhibition presented at OMA and SDHC in 2013, this group exhibition revisits the evolving field of landscape art by Southern California-based artists more than a decade later and includes 11 artists from the original 2013 exhibition. Work by a distinguished set of invited artists is showcased along with exceptional works identified through a regional open call, highlighting the diversity of artistic voices redefining the landscape genre. Changing Terrain offers fresh perspectives on landscape, revealing how environment, culture, history, and community shape our evolving sense of place. Together, these works capture the beauty, complexity, and resilience of a border region where natural and human histories continually intersect. The exhibition opens to the public at the Oceanside Museum of Art and the San Diego History Center in Balboa Park on August 22. This special concert honors the 270th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, one of history's most beloved and influential musical geniuses. Audiences will enjoy an inspiring program of Mozart's timeless masterpieces, performed by distinguished musicians from Europe and the United States. Internationally celebrated pianist Tian Jiang appears as soloist in Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 23 in A Major, K. 488. Praised as "a thoughtful interpreter" by The New York Times and "a deeply persuasive Mozartean" by The Los Angeles Times, he is recognized for performances that combine poetic artistry, technical mastery, and expressive depth. The second annual Asian American Dance Festival is underway in San Diego, bringing Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders movement artists together to share their stories and history through dance, from hip-hop and breakdancing to Odissi.

Open Reception: Saturday, September 12, 2026 1- 5 p.m. For generations, communities have demonstrated that the most effective responses to violence are often not through criminalization, but in the relationships and cultural practices that help the youth dream of a better future. Lowrider bikes are often the first vehicle through which youth express their individuality, cultural pride, and sense of belonging. Each bike carries with it the legacy of those who built, rode, and shared it, embodying the values that continue to sustain lowrider culture today. This exhibition brings together a display of lowrider bikes, contemporary artists, photographers, and special contributions of archival photo collections from local San Diego bike club chapters. Chrome and "Candy Dreams" honors the living heritage of the lowrider bike as a powerful rite of passage for generations of youth.
