Celebrate creativity, community, and the arts at Art Night Encinitas, a free, family-friendly evening featuring exhibitions, live music, artist demonstrations, and hands-on art experiences across four Encinitas locations. Explore featured exhibitions and creative activities at Encinitas City Hall, Encinitas Library, Encinitas Community and Senior Center, and Pacific View Arts Center, while connecting with local artists and discovering new ways to experience the arts. Featured artists include Brian Feretic at Encinitas City Hall; Brendan Kerr, Milan DelVecchio in the Library’s Periodical Room, and Luis Murguia at the Encinitas Library; and Neil Brooks, Vicki Leon, Carrie Kelley, and James Gunderson at the Encinitas Community and Senior Center. Throughout the evening, enjoy live music from talented performers including School of Rock Encinitas, Spirit Wind, Danielle Romano, and Nathan & Jessie, along with artist presentations, live painting demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. Try your hand at creating a resin pendant with Brian Feretic, explore creative techniques with local artists, and get inspired by the many artistic experiences happening throughout the evening. A complimentary shuttle will connect the four main venues with participating galleries, community sites, and local businesses, making it easy to explore Art Night throughout Encinitas. On Sunday, Oct. 4, from 1-5 p.m., Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation will host a Multicultural Festival and invites the public to attend and celebrate a variety of cultures through food, entertainment and connecting with the community. The festival with open with a land acknowledgement from Danza Azteca Kuauhkoatl, followed by a full line-up of performances by El Tesoro Del Folklor, Mariachi Orgullo Nacional, Naruwan Taiko Drummers, Junkyard Dance Crew, Errrverybodi Line Dancers, Thai dancers from the School of Thai Language and Culture, singer Karla Ruiz and more. Attendees can dig into local dishes from San Diego vendors Mahalang Grill and Crafts and Taste of Lao Paradise. Plus, families can enjoy face painting, children's games and activities, a petting zoo and more. Nonprofit and community resource tables will feature Community Wraparound, the San Diego County Registrar of Voters, the Black Chamber/Diamond Business Improvement District, Malcolm X Library, SAY San Diego, Family Health Center, Sharia's Closet, Sons and Daughters of Guam Club, Southeastern Kiwanis, and UPAC Expanding Horizons.
