The evening will include a dog costume contest, festive treats, and photo-worthy moments, like a Halloween pup parade. It’s always 5 o’clock somewhere and every Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m., it’s Yappy Hour at Margaritaville Hotel San Diego’s pup-friendly rooftop oasis, 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar. Designed for both locals and hotel guests, Yappy Hour is the perfect way to unwind with your four-legged friend, enjoy stunning views, and connect with fellow dog lovers over great drinks. Yappy Hour features a specialty dog-friendly menu with playful “barktails” including the Pawgarita, a cucumber and ice blend with a cucumber garnish, and the Pupa Colada, made with coconut purée and topped with a treat garnish. Canine snacks include the Canine Crudité with fresh veggies, the Bark Burger made with a grilled beef patty, and the Paw-lickin’ Chicken, a grilled chicken breast that’s sure to please. Espin, Professor Emerita in the Department of Women's Studies at San Diego State University, will discuss the contributions of four women to the philosophy of the 20th century: Simone de Beauvoir, Edith Stein, Simone Weil, and Hannah Arendt. Professor Espin selected these unique individuals because of the significance of their work. Although it is recognizably philosophical, these women suffered from ostracism, and their importance has been neglected, ignored, or forgotten.
