Blending Colombian, Mexican, and Chicano influences with the raw energy of garage and punk, the group transforms cumbia sonidera and norteña traditions into a powerful, dance-floor-filling sound. REZA is a San Diego brass-and-percussion project bringing cumbia into the streets. Fusing Afro-Indigenous percussion, tropical brass, Colombian rhythms such as cumbia and porro, and the explosive energy of a New Orleans street band, REZA creates a communal, high-energy celebration built for dancing. One of San Diego's most beloved holiday traditions returns with the theme "Liberty Lights the Bay – Cheers to 250 Years." Boats decorated with lights and designs honor 250 years of American history and the spirit of freedom, welcome, and opportunity. The parade draws more than 100,000 people to the waterfront each year. The route starts at Shelter Island and passes Harbor Island, the Embarcadero, Seaport Village, and The Port Park and Pier in Barrio Logan. It then crosses the Bay before the Coronado Bridge to the Marriott Coronado Hotel and ends near the Coronado Ferry Landing. It is free to watch from spots along the route. Arrive early.
