  • Convivio, a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community through the celebration of Italian culture and intercultural experiences will bring one of Italy’s most cherished summer traditions to San Diego with Ferragosto: Sotto Le Stelle on Saturday, August 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. at AmiciBar in Little Italy (250 W. Date St., San Diego, CA 92101). Meaning “under the stars,” Sotto Le Stelle invites guests to experience Ferragosto the Italian way, with delicious food, lively conversation, music, and a shared celebration of community. The evening will feature heavy appetizers, drinks, and live performances by Sacha Boutros, Salvador Padilla, Pietro Rizzi, and Iris Moné. Celebrated annually on August 15, Ferragosto is one of Italy’s most anticipated holidays, with origins dating back to ancient Rome’s Feriae Augusti, a period of rest and festivities introduced by Emperor Augustus. Today, the holiday is celebrated throughout Italy with gatherings, outdoor meals, seaside trips, music, and time spent with loved ones during the height of summer. Convivio’s Ferragosto celebration will begin with a social hour at 7 p.m., followed by the live performance at 8 p.m. Individual tickets start at $65 and include appetizers, one beverage per guest (cocktail, wine, or beer), live entertainment, and an evening filled with Italian culture and community.
