Join Gelson’s in a virtual wine tasting with Julien Fayard, one of Napa Valley’s most respected 100pt. winemaker. In Napa, Julien spent a few years at Melka Estates, honing his terroir-forward winemaking style with the distinguished French winemaker Philippe Melka. He’s now gone on to launch his own projects, making wine for wineries like Purlieu and Le Pich, as well as his own labels — Azur, Covert Estate, and Empreinte. And, of course, projects like Gelson’s private label wines. The virtual tasting will take place on Nov. 16 at 6 pm, and will feature the following wines: Gelson’s Reserve Sauvignon Blanc ($21.99); Gelson’s Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Veeder ($36.99); and Gelson’s newest Epicure Series Cabernet Sauvignon, Howell Mountain ($74.99). Pair one, two, or all three of these options with a Gelson’s custom Cheese & Charcuterie Plate. The price of admission is $24.99 and includes the Custom Cheese & Charcuterie plate for two. The meats and cheeses are specially curated to complement the wine. Featured items include: Humboldt Fog, White Stilton with Apricots, Mimolette, Sartori Bellavitano with Espresso & Barbers English Cheddar Cheeses, Olli Toscano Salame, Trois Petits Cochons Duck Rillettes – served with Eddies Oak Crackers, Caper Berries, Petite Toasts, Honey Mama’s Cocoa Truffle Bar, and Dried Apricots.
