Crews had the burn zone completely surrounded by firebreaks as of about 3 p.m. Friday, CalFire reported.

The aircraft went down for unknown reasons about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, shortly after taking off from San Diego International Airport en route to Phoenix, the Federal Aviation Administration reported.

Local 770 of the United Food and Commercial Workers union, representing approximately 45,000 workers at the four stores in Southern California, announced Wednesday that its members had voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike.

The announcement comes after voters narrowly passed Measure B in 2022, which helped repeal "The People's Ordinance" trash collection model and allowed the city to charge a monthly fee for solid trash pickup.

The Coches Fire is burning north of Interstate 8, near Los Coches Road in Lakeside.

The Lodge Fire is burning near Jamacha Boulevard and Double Tree Road in Spring Valley.
