Towards the end of 2008, Facebook became a part of my life and community, mostly because I couldn" escape it. & Of course, I knew what Facebook was prior to that, but it was around the holidays that I started hearing people talk about "being on Facebook" in my workplace and circle of friends. & It seems as if my friends all joined around the same time and have since been talking about the strange allure, time-suck, and psychological toll of Facebook. & One of my friends even wrote about it in her City Beat column.
