Sydney socialite Daisy Munroe (Rebecca Gibney) heads to New Zealand for a vacation at her recently deceased stepfather’s winery, which she intends to sell. Little does she know the vineyard has a co-owner: grumpy U.K.-born lawyer Louis Oakley (Charles Edwards), who also travels to New Zealand to escape a spiraling series of unfortunate events in his life.
  • Premieres Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. on KPBS TV. Italians really do eat spaghetti and meatballs! We head to Abruzzo to learn the ancient origins of this all-American dish. Plus, we share two more red sauce recipes with surprising origin stories: Charred Red-Sauce Spaghetti (Spaghetti all'Assassina) and Slow-Cooked Short Rib Ragu with Pasta.

Her sculptors can be found in Balboa Park, Downtown San Diego and more. Celebrate the legacy she and her artwork have left on San Diego, and discover what went into the creation of her piece "Coming Together."
  • Watch Thursday, Sept. 4, 2025 at 9 p.m. on KPBS TV + Monday, Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. on KPBS 2. The San Diego County Administration Building is a magnificent historical site. The plans came together by the late 1930s when President Franklin Roosevelt designated the Public Works Administration to help revitalize the economy during the Great Depression.

Coming to this country with dreams of a better life, frontline caregivers, nannies, and house cleaners risk it all to support their families while fighting for workplace protections during the COVID-19 pandemic. Through grit, activism, and unbending solidarity, these mostly female and largely undocumented workers show how change can happen—even when the odds are stacked against them.

The Las Coloradas salt, which means blush red, gets its distinctive color from red algae. Engineer Felipe Perez takes Pati to the pink lakes where the salt is produced. Down the road in Rio Lagartos, conservationist Diego Nuñez takes her to see another pink wonder, Mexico’s highest concentration of flamingos.
