New San Diego Lifeguard Station Gets State Approval
A state agency has approved plans for a new lifeguard tower and station at a popular San Diego beach.

The California Coastal Commission approved plans Wednesday allowing the city of San Diego to replace an old lifeguard station.

The city intends to demolish an old 30-ft. high, 897 square foot lifeguard station near the jetty at South Mission Beach.

The city will replace it with a 3-story, 30-ft. high, 3,125 sq.ft. lifeguard station.
