People across the country are keeping an eye on the election in San Diego's 50th Congressional district today.

Democrat Francine Busby is running against Republican Brian Billbray to fill the seat left vacant when Randy Duke Cunningham pleaded guilty to taking two-point-four million dollars in bribes.

Many are watching for signs of a shift away from the Republican Party and say the race is a bellwether for November's Congressional elections.

Outside one polling place in Cardiff many voters expressed frustration with the Republican Party.

Dale Cornelius is a Green Party member. He says he voted provisionally with another party so he could cast a vote against the Republicans.

Cornelius: "I just think the greed and corruption has gone too far and I want them out. Just clean the slate."

Republican Party officials in San Diego say they're running the same type of campaign they've run for the last five special elections. They say the Republican Party has won most of them so there's no need to change.
