It looks like a divisive school bond measure in Rancho Santa Fe is not going to pass even though school district officials are holding out hope until the remaining absentee ballots are tallied. KPBS Reporter Ana Tintocalis has more.

Proposition H, a $44-million bond, would have gone toward building a new school in Rancho Santa Fe. Currently there's only one school in the district and it has reached its capacity. The measure needed 55 percent voter approval. So far it received about 51 percent. Rancho Santa Fe school board member John Stiker says many people want a new facility, the hard part is to find a location that voters will accept.
Stiker: The need for a second school has not gone away with the result of the no vote. And its not quite clear yet what we will do or how we will go about resolving it.
The new school would have been built in an equestrian neighborhood at Aliso Canyon Road. But opponents said the location has serious safety and traffic concerns. Ana Tintoclais, KPBS News.
