For the second time in two years, Californians have rejected a measure that would have required doctors to notify parents before performing an abortion on a minor. But supporters say they’re not going to give up. KPBS Reporter Kenny Goldberg has the story.
California voters turned down Prop 73 by five percentage points last year. Now they’ve rejected Prop 85 by an even bigger margin. But Prop 85 spokesman Albin Rhomberg says the fight will continue.
Rhomberg: We’re, you know, already making plans to have another initiative. Perhaps the primary in 2008.
Kathy Kneer is president of Planned Parenthood of California.
Kneer: They really need to stop and look at the lessons they should be learning from this election. And it’s never going to get better for them, and it’s only making us stronger.
