California's Power Grid managers say they should have enough juice to keep the state's lights on today. There was concern that a heat wave in Southern California might stress power supplies today.

Greg Fishman works at the Power Grid. He says early assessments brought good news.

Fishman : Northern California's load in the PG and E territory is a little bit higher than anticipated. While in Southern California it’s actually a little bit cooler and the loads there are lower.

Fishman says moderating temperatures today and tomorrow should reduce the risk of any power shortages. Even so, grid managers say conservation will be important to make sure there's a robust pool of reserve power.
