North County's Tri-City Healthcare District is considering whether to put another hospital bond before the voters. The district tried twice last year, but fell short on both attempts. KPBS reporter Kenny Goldberg has more.
The Tri-City Healthcare District includes Vista, Carlsbad, and Oceanside.
Last year, voters narrowly rejected a $596 million bond to upgrade and expand the area's hospital.
Now, the district has hired a political consultant to help it decide whether to float yet another bond.
Board Chairman Larry Schallock says if they decide to go ahead, it's crucial to come up with a bond amount everyone can live with.
Schallock : We need to be sure that what we take to the voters is what we can afford and what can be built with the money that we're asking for.
Schallock says he's inviting the public to be involved in the decision-making process.
